With the transparency required by our principles and values , which we have compiled in the regulations, in this section we will be publishing everything related to the actions carried out with the NGOs that work in the area affected by a humanitarian disaster in the Horn of Africa.
What type of NGOs do we want to work with?
- Spanish: Those which have a D in their names, Development NGOs, that is: those included in the registry of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation – Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo , AECID– or in the registry of the corresponding autonomous region.
- International: equivalent requirements within the legal framework of the country where they are registered.
- Those who have previous experience in any of the affected countries (Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia and Djibouti).
- Those who, just like us, have a clear commitment to transparency in their management and can prove it.
How will we select the entities that will receive the funds we raise?
- We will find information about the Development NGOs that work in the affected area using the AECID register and the resources of the “CONGDE, Coordinadora de ONG para el Desarrollo España (Coordinator of Development NGO Spain), as well as those of the Coordinators of the autonomous regions
- We will verify the transparency of these entities, that means that:
- They belong to any coordinator of autonomous regions or to the CONGDE (essential requirement).
- They have been examined by “Fundación Lealtad” (quality requirement).
- They publish their activities record and annual accounts (essential requirement).
- Their accounts are audited (quality requirement).
- They have a specific part about this issue in their web sites (quality requirement).
- They belong to international networks (quality requirement).
- We will contact them in order to create a cooperation framework that guarantees the proper use of the resources in projects carried out in the area.
- The list of entities that meet the previous requirements will be published in our website so that the people supporting us, in a participatory mechanism, can vote those to which they want to give the donated money.
How will we interact with the chosen entities once the money is assigned?
- We will formalize with an agreement the handing out of the money assigned to each one, establishing among others the following obligations:
- Use the money for a project or projects in one of the countries in the Horn of Africa. This project will have been considered of interest by the people that support us.
- These projects must be result-oriented.
- Abide by the applicable laws concerning taxes, accountancy, etc., including the Spanish Ley de subvenciones. (law on subsidies)
- To submit an activity report once the project is concluded, that must be published in our website.
- To perform a financial audit of the project (requirement that will be established according to the quantity), hiring for such purpose a recognized auditing firm.
Which organizations would we like to participate?
Below is a preliminary list of the NGOs that we have been analyzing according to our criteria. This list is not definitive and it will change if there are further verifications or if we receive express applications from Organizations which allow us to carry out a study.
The previous list is sorted out alphabetically and it does not imply any preference or deliberation.
Which agreement will we sign?

Here we will provide the links of the projects that the NGOs present, so that you can know and consider. They are sorted out by date of reception:
