What else you can do for Africa with 90?

Hi!
[GET INFORMED] You are already doing something, you are getting informed about “90”.
We are a citizens’ initiative: people like you who has decided not to be passive spectators of the worsening situation in the Horn of Africa and the daily deaths of hundreds of children is intolerable. You can read more about the real situation at our section Africa.
[JOIN US] Next thing you can do is very simple. If you have a social network profile, follow us, click over the social network on what you are: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ may seem silly, but having a high score here gives us great credibility and strength to continue to grow faster, reach more people. It is also important that “you put the plate.” It is very easy to set: click here.
If you take a look at our twitter followers you can be surprised, because people from many places, professions, many other NGO, from many soccer teams, and different political colors…. You may not share some things with them, but they’re not defending them cause here, they’re supporting ours, everybody’s cause. The important thing is the African people and, for helping them, we all fit.
[SPREAD] All thousand followers we have, are not enough. We need to reach millions of people, and you are very important. Each of us can do many things to reach more people through social networks, emails, meetings with family and friends, by phone …

[DONATE] Do you think is not enough with getting to know us, joining us and spread the word to combat hunger in Africa? You’re right. We need donations, but we don`t ask for much: just € 2. We ask so little so nobody is left out. Do not wait, do not hesitate, or grant us the benefit of the doubt if you have it, and donate € 2. You can donate from your mobile via SMS. We have all the tools to do it. Section Donate.
[ACT] You can do more. You can always do more. Do what you prefer to collect, and everything you collect, send us how you prefer.
You have done everything: organizing concerts, put piggy-banks in shops, hang posters, sell cookies and bracelets, donate for every new follower on Facebook, organizing sports events, book signings, donate a guitar, write an article on your blog, hang a banner, donate a song, and much more! In the Support Us section on this website are some other resources. Do not wait until we do all, lead your own action, create your little big “90”. And if you have time and you like to participate more, join the working group. Email us to volunt (at) 90mn90d.com.
Let make a summary of everything you can find on this site:

Day 56, € 29.037 Ave María!

Goooooooooooood Monring!

Last Night we found a problem on our “Donation” page. Don`t worry, it has nothing to do with money! The problem was that the Paypal “Donate” button redirects to Paypal web page instead of redirecting to de “90 million in 90 days” web page. We don't know the cause of the problem.
Reviewing the donation history, seems that the problem is being happening for days, but good news are that the problem is solved! and for those who fail to donate this last days, can try it now because now its working.

This morning we wake up with 3 new donations and they are steel arriving :D

An anonymous donor has made more than donating 2€, he has wrote a song for us! We've being told to use David Bisbal’s music so you can play the video and sing the song lyrics of “Africa Mía” that you can find below. Great Thanks!. Any voluteer to record the video on RedKaraoke  and share it with us?

África mía, cuánto te daría,
Ayudaremos contra la sequía,
África mía, cuánto te daría,
Cambiar tu llanto, por mucha alegría

Danos tan solo dos euritos
que les devuelva la vida
y les devuelva la calma
Porque sin ti no tienen nada
sigue a noventa millones

Day 52, €28,083, Surprise!

We were flabbergasted yesterday night! Everything was doing really well, but suddenly… only €260 were collected! If 2,200 people are following us on FB and 1400 on twitter… how can this be possible?  Indeed, it can, and we’ve thought of 3 main reasons to explain it:
Firstly: people may have been confused by our Thursday’s post, in which it could be read that “our goal was accomplished”.  Actually, our aim to collect €90 million hasn’t been accomplished! What we meant to say is that we had collected enough money to help setting up a first project in Africa. Let’s keep on!
Secondly: people may be disappointed about the whole amount not being collected. Isn’t €28,000 an amazing figure? Of course it is! And this couldn’t have been possible without the contributions of all of you. We’ve still got plenty of time left! It might even happen that, on the very last day, someone decides to donate the whole amount remaining, and that’s why we really need to become a HUGE citizens’ initiative.
And thirdly and foremost: we truly believe that there are no new people getting to know us. Just imagine that today every friend on Facebook would make someone donate €2. That would make 4,400 more euros just in one day, not to forget 2,200 new people knowing us. €4,000 provide help to 110 children.
So this is what we expect from each of us/you today: some help.
  •       Tell new friends, family members, neighbors… about us
  •       Speak to people from your firm or community
  •       Spread it through your social media
  •       Send personal messages to individuals or firms through any means available to you
  •       Print and stick different posters (whether images from the blog or these) to a lift, your car, somewhere in buildings…

Help us getting more people to join in; letting them know about such a cruel situation in the Horn of Africa, which nowadays is even worse than ever and can’t be compared to what’s currently happening in Europe. Encourage them to donate 2€ and then tell the world about us, just like you. 2 Euros mean nothing… c’mon!
Click here to donate. It’s REALLY easy!
We can do this together!

Day 51, €27.822, this is important.

Hi!

Yesterday night from 7.30pm till 22.30pm our coordination meeting took place, and... we were working nonstop for the whole 3 hours! You all are great, guys! It is incredible how many more things can be done... and we still have 40 days left!!
There’s an issue I’d really like to focus on today, since I find it extremely important: some comments were made in our yesterday night’s meeting, and I think it is really important to highlight right here, right now, some concepts such as who we are, what the association is, and how we deal with NGOs.
This is a citizens’ initiative made up by volunteers. Thanks to everyone’s collaboration, no matter profile or working field, and their donations, we are trying to make our society understand that there is an extreme situation going on in the Horn of Africa. We strongly believe that anyone using social media on the internet, as well as a huge amount of those living in what’s been called “the first world”, can easily donate €2 once in his life. We don’t look for subscribers or anything else. Now the problem lies in such critical situation, and we want to find a solution as soon as possible. Everyday hundreds of children die of famine –which we find unbearable--, or what’s worse: hyenas devour children alive. Neither are we something to reflect on, nor a movement of protest. We are positive people who really want to get into the action!
Our main aim is to raise public awareness about this issue. We don’t compete against other NGOs, quite the opposite: we find it that we’re really helping them, both short and long term. The fact of donating 2€ to us doesn’t prevent someone from giving money to his regular NGO. The person who donates his first €2 is making an important step forward: he’s finally understood how extreme the matter is. The whole amount collected will be addressed to different NGOs, so what we’re doing is a free promotion of them. And we shall not forget such an amazing work that all of them (thousands, by the way) are doing. Although some of them may have turned “weird” and therefore have become news, we should really get to know them somehow better, since the greatest news is that they do work really well and they are helping thousands of people.
If you’d rather donate money to a NGO because you don’t have enough trust in as, please, DO IT NOW! Get information; choose among all the options; and wait no more, the more time goes by, the tougher the situation is.
Because of how we are, what we want, this issue, the €2… there is room for everyone here, no matter which role you want to play: every person, firm or NGO. Everyone. Seriously, we are asking for no more than 2 simple euros and the spreading of the project. Those people need all our and your help.
There’s room for everyone here!!
Thank you so much for supporting us.
PS: You’ll get news of our meeting this evening!

More stuff!

For there’re soooo many things to be told (all good news), here you have some of them :)

Let’s start! If you’ve got a twitter account, use the hashtag #m90  (’90’ movement)
Do you fancy football? Well, yesterday we talked to Manolete (@AS_Manolete), a contributor in the Spanish media Periódico AS (Newspaper), El Larguero, and Punto Pelota (radio programs), and he not only offered himself to help, but also promised to provide us with a signed copy of his book (and maybe something else) for us to sell it at auction and collect money this way! We’re ready to start auctioning stuff!

Today, Paola Bernal, our NGOs’ star, has been invited to Universo Vivo’s Crowdfunding event! But... what is Crowdfunding? The term ‘Crowdfunding’ means that the funds needed to set up a project are raised by a crowd of people, such as for instance our movement. That’s why she’s been invited!

We’d also like to mention that El Triángulo de Rembrandt, a photography business, has uploaded on its FB site all the pictures made during the gala “helping is fun”. Click on this link to see them!

An outside broadcasting unit of Radio Unión Madrid also helped us a lot to spread our image and our voice all over the world. The team interviewed tons of people, and spent the whole night giving coverage of the Gala. We’ve already received all the material they broadcasted, and we will be sharing it with all of you through this website quite soon!

And we want to finish for today by sharing a video with all of you. It was specially created for “90 millions in 90 days” by Guillermo Campra, Guillermo and Carla’s dad, a family really committed to #m90. The video contains certain images which some viewers my find hard to see, but its only aim is to show the differences between our environment and that of people arriving to refugees’ camps. Click here to watch it.

Thanks so much for being there.

Day 50, €27.050, budget reached!

Good morning! For how could it have been otherwise.
Have you seen what you have achieved with 2€? Well, there are larger donations, but above all, the most important thing here is that everyone is part of this and keeps on supporting this project; as, if we all collaborate, we will achieve greater things! Have you ever donated 27,000€?Sure you think you haven't. But indeed you have. Thank you so much!
For now we have 2 projects from AMREF. You can see them clicking on the section Projects (in Spanish. The first one needs 50,000€ and the second 26,645€. We have enough money for the second project. Tomorrow, and until Monday, we will ask you on Facebook so that you can tell us to which project you would like to send the money. If you think of a better way of voting, just tell us!
We have many things to tell you today, so there will be another post. For the moment, i can say thatthe Spanish website will change its appearance and server, thanks to acteo, which has given as as a donation its infrastructure and services to continually improve out website. They are bending over backwards for us! Thanks a lot!
By the way, we would really appreciate that someone donated an app for iPhone or Android, even if it is very simple. The only thing it has to do is to send the browser to our website, so that everyone who buys the application donates 2€. Is anybody interested in helping? This idea comes from a conversation with @rofloresg. Everyone can give their ideas!!
We still need more help to do more things.
Thank you all for being here!
