Day 3, 55.62€

Today we have reached 500 visits to our blog, despite of twitter, and we already have 1,000 in total during these three days. If we collect 55€ each 1,000 visits, we need 1,600 million visits to the web.

An important milestone is that we have gone from 11€ to 55€ without twitter.

Another important milestone is that we have already written our statements and we have all signed them at 9am. We will publish them in the web, as sign of transparency in our constitution and operation. We want to show the maximum reliability.

One thing I want to say is that do not limit your action to visit the blog, read and tell other. That's great but not enough. We need your microdonations. That way, when you tell your friends and relatives, I would say "do it, I have already done it". Suddenly your words will be meaningful. To donate, remember to click in the page "Donate".

I want also ask you to start using the logo proposed in the page "Thanks!" for all the people to ask you what is that you have in your picture? That's a good way to announce the initiative and, in consequence, to fight the hunger of the children from the horn of Africa.

Thanks for being here!

Day 3, 49.14€, suspended by Twitter...

Hi. We have collected 49.14€ so far and increasing. Thanks!!!

Twitter has just suspended our account, by spam I guess. I have been sending very similar messages to too many people and suddenly "pluf". That is what motivation means...

We have complaint Twitter and they will restore our account "in the next days!". Too much time. We'll have to do something.

Please, keep on sharing the message meanwhile. Thanks!

Day 2, we close with 11.55€

Good news! I confirm that I won't talk in singular anymore. We are going to create and association for the initiative. As you know, associations are very quickly registered, even more if they are non-profit. They are ruled by a set of statements defined by the founders, in which we are already working. Arias Thous and Associates have offered us their help at no cost. We will keep you up to date of our achievements in this issue.

As founders and starting working team we have already confirmed an expert in Human Resources, an expert in Public Relations, an expert in Tax and Legal Advisory, and me, with a lot of illusion. Pending to join are an IT expert and a NGO professional. Some I know long time ago, some I get to know because of this initiative. But I must admit that I would be difficult to imagine a better team to start with, all very committed to participate very actively in such a short period of time.

Donate through the "Donate" page. When you do, be conscious that PayPal will take its commission out, but all the rest will go entirely to the fund of 90mn90d that already has 11.55€. As you can check in previous posts, yesterday I close the PayPal tool but the african tragedy doesn't stop: Donate, please.

Spread the initiative all over. Talk about it in the coffee breaks, at lunch. Collect two euros or three dollars from your friends and access to the web to do the donation in behalf of your friends. Thanks a lot!

Day 2, running! Still 9€

Some news!

Opening just a little bit the door, the initiative is having a very good welcome. Now we have 40 followers, 419 visits, many supporting comments and suggestions and questions from several people. Thank to you all!

The easiest ways to donate (PayPal, credit cards) have extremely high commissions when the amounts of money transferred are too low (2€). Google Checkout is not available in Spain yet. Kickstarter doesn't allow to collect for donations.

Something less practical but cheaper is having a bank account for you to make transfers of money.

Next issue is how to receive the money. If I do it in a personal bank account that will impact in my taxes. That's why many people are suggesting me to formalize an association or something like that. The key point is that I can guarantee transparency and make everything as fast as possible, with less bureaucracy and without costs. I am opened to any advise or help.

I have received questions and doubts about the transparency and trust people can have in this initiative. Microdonations have an emotional meaning more than monetary. In that sense, people should make the donation easily and tell their friends to do the same but the emotional barrier is high. Something has to be put in risk and therefore being transparent is important. I have much to lose if I am not transparent, if I don't manage the initiative and the funds following the values I believe in and I transmit. I would disappoint the people I love, beginning form my family, and many other people that would turn their back on me. Disappointing 45 million people means to die socially.

We might not reach the 90 million. But that would be the only reason of disappointing.

Donate! Thanks!

Day 1, 9€

I was wrong. The first day we close with 9€ thanks to Sergio Cámara and Julián Alcolea. He had some problems with the PayPal tool and we are already complaining about it :-)

I have deactivated the PayPal button. In micro-donation commissions are too high, over 10%! We will search for a solution to donate without commissions. Therefore, I go straightaway to look for a bank. I will also request the highest interest rate for the account to increase the value of the donations.

I will update you during the morning.

Day 1, 4€

A few days ago I was watching the news about famine people is suffering in the horn of Africa. I had heard about it in the past but when I heard that, among other tragedies, hyenas were devouring kids still alive while they are waiting at the entrance of the camps, I decided to do something. I didn't know exactly what, I have to help somehow.

This early morning, I couldn't sleep, excited by the idea I have already had. To collect 90 million euros in 90 days in donations to help Africa. "If I get every single person with Twitter or Facebook, each company with presence in Internet, to donate two euros for this objective, I will beat my objective".

I haven't opened the bank account yet, not even selected the NGO that will help us to make the most of the money, but the objective is crystal clear: to collect 90 million euros in 90 days.

How? I don't know either. I have an ambitious objective, the means and the motivation. My mother has already given me the first donation. I know I will need a bank account or PayPal, NGO's, translators, RT's, "like's", diffusion. There will be someone willing to help.

My believe is that if you have enough money to ready this blog from your computer, your mobile, or in a cyber-coffee, if you access Internet regularly to consult your Facebook or your Twitter, you have two euros, or 3 dollars. We want to make it easy for you to donate, and we insist: "you have to". If you have those 3 dollars and you do't donate them, taking into account what is going on down there, you may not feel right with your decision (if you want to know more about this issue, there are tons of information in the Internet, and tons of help are needed). And you can also contact us and assume a more active role in this adventure. There are a lot of things to do.

People who donate will be able to use a badge for their profile pictures of the social networks. If someone wants to make a design for that, perfect! Any help will be recognized publicly in this blog.

As all donators and collaborators, I risk my personal reputation to guarantee that I will make a transparent of this iniciative.

The countdown has already started. I have 4€, two from my mother and two mine. I can be part of this.

Thanks!
