Day 51, €27.822, this is important.

Hi!

Yesterday night from 7.30pm till 22.30pm our coordination meeting took place, and... we were working nonstop for the whole 3 hours! You all are great, guys! It is incredible how many more things can be done... and we still have 40 days left!!
There’s an issue I’d really like to focus on today, since I find it extremely important: some comments were made in our yesterday night’s meeting, and I think it is really important to highlight right here, right now, some concepts such as who we are, what the association is, and how we deal with NGOs.
This is a citizens’ initiative made up by volunteers. Thanks to everyone’s collaboration, no matter profile or working field, and their donations, we are trying to make our society understand that there is an extreme situation going on in the Horn of Africa. We strongly believe that anyone using social media on the internet, as well as a huge amount of those living in what’s been called “the first world”, can easily donate €2 once in his life. We don’t look for subscribers or anything else. Now the problem lies in such critical situation, and we want to find a solution as soon as possible. Everyday hundreds of children die of famine –which we find unbearable--, or what’s worse: hyenas devour children alive. Neither are we something to reflect on, nor a movement of protest. We are positive people who really want to get into the action!
Our main aim is to raise public awareness about this issue. We don’t compete against other NGOs, quite the opposite: we find it that we’re really helping them, both short and long term. The fact of donating 2€ to us doesn’t prevent someone from giving money to his regular NGO. The person who donates his first €2 is making an important step forward: he’s finally understood how extreme the matter is. The whole amount collected will be addressed to different NGOs, so what we’re doing is a free promotion of them. And we shall not forget such an amazing work that all of them (thousands, by the way) are doing. Although some of them may have turned “weird” and therefore have become news, we should really get to know them somehow better, since the greatest news is that they do work really well and they are helping thousands of people.
If you’d rather donate money to a NGO because you don’t have enough trust in as, please, DO IT NOW! Get information; choose among all the options; and wait no more, the more time goes by, the tougher the situation is.
Because of how we are, what we want, this issue, the €2… there is room for everyone here, no matter which role you want to play: every person, firm or NGO. Everyone. Seriously, we are asking for no more than 2 simple euros and the spreading of the project. Those people need all our and your help.
There’s room for everyone here!!
Thank you so much for supporting us.
PS: You’ll get news of our meeting this evening!
