Day 52, €28,083, Surprise!

We were flabbergasted yesterday night! Everything was doing really well, but suddenly… only €260 were collected! If 2,200 people are following us on FB and 1400 on twitter… how can this be possible?  Indeed, it can, and we’ve thought of 3 main reasons to explain it:
Firstly: people may have been confused by our Thursday’s post, in which it could be read that “our goal was accomplished”.  Actually, our aim to collect €90 million hasn’t been accomplished! What we meant to say is that we had collected enough money to help setting up a first project in Africa. Let’s keep on!
Secondly: people may be disappointed about the whole amount not being collected. Isn’t €28,000 an amazing figure? Of course it is! And this couldn’t have been possible without the contributions of all of you. We’ve still got plenty of time left! It might even happen that, on the very last day, someone decides to donate the whole amount remaining, and that’s why we really need to become a HUGE citizens’ initiative.
And thirdly and foremost: we truly believe that there are no new people getting to know us. Just imagine that today every friend on Facebook would make someone donate €2. That would make 4,400 more euros just in one day, not to forget 2,200 new people knowing us. €4,000 provide help to 110 children.
So this is what we expect from each of us/you today: some help.
  •       Tell new friends, family members, neighbors… about us
  •       Speak to people from your firm or community
  •       Spread it through your social media
  •       Send personal messages to individuals or firms through any means available to you
  •       Print and stick different posters (whether images from the blog or these) to a lift, your car, somewhere in buildings…

Help us getting more people to join in; letting them know about such a cruel situation in the Horn of Africa, which nowadays is even worse than ever and can’t be compared to what’s currently happening in Europe. Encourage them to donate 2€ and then tell the world about us, just like you. 2 Euros mean nothing… c’mon!
Click here to donate. It’s REALLY easy!
We can do this together!
