Day 5, 86.06€

Good afternoon!

As you see, the donations score has moved only a little bit. These are the bad news. The main point is that we have received our first international donation from Chile.

I want you to remember that this initiative started on Monday at 19 hours, and up to date we have:
  • collected 86.06€ in 17 donations, 9 from relatives and close friends,
  • received 2,000 visits in our website,
  • put 10 badges in the profile pictures,
  • and gathered 11 followers of the blog.
 And we have also:
  • configured a team of 6 people. Welcome Sergio Cámara! And we have active and very valuable collaborators like Bubble Dad or Nilda Cerna, among others. And many more are willing to collaborate when we figure out how,
  • defined and signed our constitution statement for the non-profit association "90 million in 90 days",
  • created and maintained active participation in the blog, twitter and facebook,
  • and prepared a presentation of the initiative for a radio interview (Gestiona Radio, today at 20:20)
It would be an important milestone to close the week with 100€ (at the end of Sunday), and we are pretty close...

What are we doing next?

We are facing the demanding task of collecting 89,999,900 euros. It would be fantastic to reduce a figure from that amount every week. For that purpose we are thinking about:
  • translating the blog into english (any volunteers? contact-at-90mn90d.com),
  • provide a bank account for you to order transfers,
  • analyzing different possibilities to create a "Nuez" initiative, create a global network of activists, organize a charity poker event, ask people to send picture of anything that worths 2€, face the corporate segment, upload videos in Youtube, create actions to massively spread the initiative in the social media (suggestions to contact-at-90mn90d.com), search for ambassadors (famous personalities), ... some of them are already in progress,
  • develop creativity sessions to define new actions,
  • define the criteria we will use for the selection of the NGO's that will received the money and ask your opinion,
  • and, obviously, get organized!
But the most important thing: if you visit our blog and you don't donate two euros (or three dollars), or you ask someone for the money and they don't collaborate, tell us why. That feedback will provide us information to improve our message and strategy to reach the goal: gather 90 million euros to fight against the famine in the horn of Africa. Any suggestion of improvement will be very welcome.
